What was the highlight of PS Mae Sod Hotel
Nice hotel but should improve breakfast menu, TV channels and English sign for International travel
Nice new construction. Owner did a great job in the lobby. Nice comfortable rooms too. Large parking lot. Nice people at reception. Internet speed average.
Hotel far from downtown so you need transportation. No convenience store around and no restaurant in the hotel. Breakfast room is too small when they book groups on 2 busses. Breakfast food is not explained. Signs mostly in Thai language in the room and restaurant. I had a Thai group one day ( 2 full bus )and Indian group the next day. With international visitor English is a must. No English language channel on the TV in the room. Hotel should have at minimum English language news and movies. In the afternoon only 1 of 4 AC unit was operated in the lobby. With the sun it was not confortable. Waterfalls 25 minutes from the hotel by car.

What was the highlight of PS Mae Sod Hotel
Great value new hotel.
The hotel is lovely and new but tends to cater only for locals (ie not foreign visitors). Breakfast is basic - toast and eggs - I think there are other things available, but unless you speak Thai, these options are not available. The staff were lovely despite and tried to be helpful most of the time. The rooms were lovely, and comfortable. The elevator is so smooth it doesn't even feel like it is moving. The wifi is fantastic - all four of us were able to use the facility at the same time - first time during our stay in Thailand.
The property is noisy due to the design of the building, ie on the 5th floor we could hear the guests chairs scraping the floor at breakfast on the ground floor. Location is away from the hub of Mae Sot - which is fine if you have your own transport which seems to be essential if wanting to look at tourist areas. The coffee and tea were terrible, there was no airport shuttle that we were aware of. In this age of technology PS Mae Sot could easily accommodate foreign guests. I am not expecting the staff to be fluent in english, but having basic instructions for the hotel would be really helpful.
